So, what about those three confusing phrases: Far East, Middle East, and Near East. The simplest of these slippery phrases is the Far East. First recorded inthe phrase “Far East” came into common usage in the s because of British colonial expansion to eastern Asia.

The term was used to describe all British colonies east of India. The Far East is a geographical term in English that usually refers to East Asia, the Russian Far East (part of North Asia), and Southeast Asia.

South Asia is sometimes also included for economic and cultural reasons. The term "Far East" came into use in European geopolitical discourse in the 12th century, denoting the Far East as the "farthest" of the three "easts", beyond the Near East and Burmese: အရှေ့ဖျား ဒေသ.

In honor of Ramadan, I wanted to offer a book list to help bridge an understanding Far East and the Middle East book Muslins and people of other faiths.

It’s actually taken me more than a year to assemble this book list as I am not familiar with this topic.
